Body Contouring Surgery Details
Body contouring procedures are performed under general anesthesia or intravenous sedation and may require an overnight hospital stay. The length of your procedure will vary depending on which procedure or procedures you have chosen.
During each procedure Dr. Margoles will strategically place incisions so they may be concealed. The size and shape of the incision will depend on the location and how much excess skin needs to be removed.
Body Contouring Aftercare & Recovery
You will be in the recovery room for 1 hour following surgery, after which you will be sent home. All patients must have a responsible adult with them to return home. It is also strongly advised that a responsible adult stay the night with you.
After your surgery, dressings will be wrapped around the treated area to minimize swelling and help support your new contour. Small tubes may be used to help drain excess fluid. Dr. Margoles and her team will provide you with detailed post-surgery instructions. Some discomfort is common, but prescription medication will help ease the pain.
Recovery times vary but on average will take between 7-14 days. However, your healing will continue for many weeks and strenuous activities should be avoided during this time.
