Arm Lift

ARM LIFT SURGERY in GREENWICH, CT & Westchester, NY with Dr. sandra Margoles

Weight fluctuations and aging, which leads to a loss of elastin and collagen, can diminish the shape and tone of the upper arm. Arm lift surgery (also known as brachioplasty) removes excess fat and loose skin from the upper arms giving them a slimmer, toned, and contoured look.

Arm Lift Surgery Details

An arm lift is an outpatient procedure performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with intravenous sedation and takes approximately 1-2 hours. In some cases, an arm lift can be done with Liposuction alone, while others will require surgical incisions.

You will be in the recovery room for 1 hour following surgery, after which you will be sent home. All patients must have a responsible adult with them to return home. It is also strongly advised that a responsible adult stay the night with you.

Arm Lift Surgery Recovery & Aftercare

You will receive detailed post-surgery care instructions and Dr. Margoles and her staff will be available to answer any questions or concerns. It is important to follow Dr. Margoles’ instructions carefully to ensure the best results and easiest recovery.

After surgery, bandages and compression garments are applied to minimize swelling. You will experience some bruising, swelling, and discomfort for about 2 weeks, which can be managed with prescription medication. Recovery times vary. In most cases, stitches will dissolve over time. Patients are able to resume normal activities within 7-10 days. Strenuous activity should be avoided for a month or more. Dr. Margoles will discuss this with you during a follow up visit.
