Meet Dr. Margoles
Dr. Sandra L. Margoles studied biochemistry as an undergraduate receiving her bachelor's degree from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut then completed her master's degree in neuroscience and psychology. Prior to medical school, Dr. Margoles worked as a Clinical Neuropsychology Associate/Clinical Lecturer at the Yale University School of Medicine and the University of Connecticut Health Center and was a research investigator for the World Health Organization.
She completed her medical degree with honors from Dartmouth Medical School where she received an NIH grant to continue the basic science research she had started while at Trinity College and Yale University and also received a United Nations traveling fellowship to the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland.
She then studied general surgery at Harvard Medical School's Beth Israel Hospital, then completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital, the teaching hospital for Harvard Medical School, in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. During that tenure, Dr. Margoles received numerous awards, research grants and honors and was one of the original investigators in the now popular use of lasers for skin resurfacing.
She completed her training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York City.
Dr Margoles entered private practice in Stamford, Connecticut in 1999. Dr. Margoles specializes in all aesthetic surgery as well as reconstructive surgery of the breast and body. Dr. Margoles is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the only board recognized to credential plastic surgeons and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
